Recently at Abel House, our distributed church, we were able to do both a baptism and a wedding. I wrote up a blog post on the baptism. You can read it here: http://abelhouse.church/baptism/. (There are even pictures!) What was neat about the baptism, is that it was a whole family. First my son and I baptized the father. Then, the father in turned baptized his wife. Then, husband and wife, baptized their daughter. In that one event, you could see the progression of the distributed church in action. It was beautiful.
Most recently, we performed a wedding right in my living room. It was "low-key" yet it had the more energy than any wedding I have ever been to, including my own! There was something about being around our spiritual family while honoring what God instituted, seeing a family being born in our midst. Awesome.
What are some of the most significant things you have seen in your distributed churches?
